City of Southfield Declares Snow Emergency Through January 27

The City of Southfield has declared a snow emergency beginning on Tuesday, February 1 at 11 p.m. until further notice due to the severe weather conditions predicted. All vehicles must be moved off Southfield streets to facilitate snow plows and emergency vehicles. Failure to do so may result in a ticket or towing. Residents are encouraged to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

By City Code, homeowners, renters and businesses are responsible for clearing snow and ice from sidewalks and curb cuts in front of their homes within a twenty-four (24) consecutive hour time period. Residents are also reminded to not leave pets outside and to assist elderly or handicapped residents who may need help with snow removal.

The City appreciates the cooperation of all residents as we work to keep Southfield roadways and neighborhoods safe.
