Apply for the second-round open call by October 28, 2025
DAVIE, Fla. - The Town of Davie is conducting a second open call for six artists interested in participating in the Painted Horses public art project. Applications will be accepted now through October 28, 2025. The artists selected will be chosen to design and fabricate a painted design on a fiberglass horse sculpture.
The artwork should reflect the theme "Historical Cultures of Davie". The primary focus areas for the artwork should include, but not be limited to, areas of farming and fruit groves, education, cowboys and rodeo, flora and fauna. Each artist selected will be compensated $2,000 for completing their painted horse.
Requirements:
To apply, artists must complete the registration form to be considered for the program www.davie-fl.gov/PaintedHorsesArt.
About the Public Art Project:
This public art project aims to add a creative touch by displaying Davie's equestrian heritage through painted fiberglass horse sculptures across Town parks and facilities. This beautification effort will enhance the experience for visitors and residents alike.
The Town of Davie Public Art Advisory Committee will serve as the selection committee to recommend proposed artwork for Town Council approval. The Town will select one design from each artist.
