Portions of Three Streets to Close Beginning April 6

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that portions of three streets will close beginning Monday, April 6. The closures are as follows:

  • Adams Street between 33rd and 41st streets will close to continue work on the Adams Street from 38th to 49th Street Improvement Project. This project is scheduled to be completed in early summer 2026. Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained. The recommended detour is Cornhusker Highway to 33rd Street to Huntington and Leighton avenues to 48th Street.
  • An eastbound lane of Cornhusker Highway between 35th Street and Havelock Avenue will close to begin work on the Cornhusker Highway from 39th to L55X Street Improvement Project. This project is scheduled to be completed in winter 2026.
  • 70th Street from Arbor to Bluff roads will close for pavement construction. This work is scheduled to be completed by mid-July. The recommended detour is Arbor Road to 56th Street to Bluff Road.

Digital signs will alert traffic to upcoming work and closures. Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around this closure. LTU appreciates the public's patience during this closure and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
