SACRAMENTO - Speaker of the Assembly Robert Rivas and Assembly Budget Chair Jesse Gabriel issued the following statements in response to Governor Gavin Newsom's May Revision budget proposal:

"As Trump's failures continue to create real economic harm for California families, we must safeguard health care and food assistance, advance housing affordability, and manage every taxpayer dollar with discipline - including a more robust rainy day fund and no new major ongoing spending commitments.
