Congratulatory Address on the occasion of the upcoming New Year 2026

Dear compatriots!

I sincerely congratulate all of you, as well as our compatriots living abroad, on the upcoming New Year 2026.

I wish every family of the noble and glorious people of our country good health, prosperity, a peaceful and quiet life.

The outgoing year has been another successful and historic year for our beloved Tajikistan, a year of significant achievements and remarkable progress.

Despite the vulnerable and complex conditions of the modern world and the negative impact of external factors, in 2025 we have made a number of significant achievements and indicators, both in domestic and foreign policy.

These achievements and successes were analysed in detail and reviewed a few days ago in the President's Address.

Thanks to peace and tranquility, complete political stability, national unity, and the selfless labor of the noble people of the country, the sustainable development of the national economy has been ensured.

In 2025, important programmes and plans adopted as part of national strategic goals were consistently implemented, giving a serious boost to the country's economic and social development, and we came significantly closer to achieving our goals.

The elections of the new convocation of the Majlisi namoyandagon, local assemblies of people's deputies, and members of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli, which took place with the active participation of voters - the glorious people of Tajikistan - became an important political event of the outgoing year.

This significant political event contributed to the development of the country's domestic policy and further strengthened the authority of the Tajik state in the international arena as a democratic, legal, and secular state.

The people of the country, including entrepreneurs and generous individuals, worked sincerely and selflessly, giving creative and construction activities an unprecedented scale, and built thousands of production and social facilities, including workshops and industrial enterprises, roads and bridges, kindergartens and schools, as well as medical and service institutions.

On these festive days, I express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to all patriotic and worthy citizens of the country, entrepreneurs and all those who have contributed to the process of creating and improving the land of our ancestors.

I would also like to note that in order to further strengthen national identity, foster patriotism, self-awareness and national self-knowledge among the people, especially the younger generation and youth, Abulqosim Firdavsi's immortal work 'Shohnoma' was published and delivered to every family in the country.

Shohnoma is an eternal source of values that shape national identity, as well as patriotic and independence ideas of the Tajik people. I am convinced that it will give a serious impetus to strengthening the national self-awareness of all strata of our society.

For us, strengthening national identity and national consciousness, patriotism and love for the Motherland, as well as protecting independence and freedom, are of paramount importance.

This is because globalisation has created a situation that threatens national values.

It is for this reason that we have declared 2026 the 'Year of Expansion of Development and Construction Works and of Strengthening the National Self-Awareness and Self-Knowledge'.

The outgoing year has also been successful and memorable for us in terms of support for our country's international initiatives.

In addition to the initiatives of previous years, this year the United Nations General Assembly adopted several proposals of Tajikistan, and on 12 December alone, two of its initiatives were approved through the adoption of relevant resolutions.

Dear compatriots!

In these festive moments, I would like to proudly and with deep satisfaction declare that all the successes we have achieved to date are, first and foremost, the result of independence and freedom, peace and tranquility as well as national unity.

I also sincerely note that we have achieved such peaceful and prosperous days, achievements and successes precisely thanks to the patriotic determination and efforts of the country's residents, as well as their support for the policies pursued by the state and the Government of the country.

The coming year is extremely important, both politically and socio-economically - it is the 35th anniversary of the independence of our beloved Tajikistan, and in honour of this great anniversary we will carry out large-scale and significant projects.

In this regard, I appeal to every person of honour and dignity, to all the hard-working people of the country, to make even greater efforts to further improve and beautify our beloved homeland, to ensure the steady development of our sovereign state, that is, in the name of strengthening statehood and building the Fatherland, as well as for the further improvement of the living conditions of every family in the country.

Our dear compatriots are well aware of the unstable and eventful processes taking place in the world today.

These processes serve as a warning to every patriotic citizen, honest and responsible, conscious person, as well as to the entire population of the country, about the need to direct all their strength and efforts towards protecting independence and freedom, strengthening peace and tranquility, political stability, national unity, and the development and prosperity of the sovereign Tajik state.

In the context of unprecedented developments in science, engineering and technology, we must give priority attention to the education of children - the generations who are the future of the nation and the Motherland - and create the best conditions for them to receive education.

We must create as many production workshops and enterprises as possible to provide our compatriots with jobs.

I am confident that domestic entrepreneurs and investors of honour and dignity will continue to actively contribute to this effort.

I can say with complete confidence that all of us, young and old, citizens of paradise-like Tajikistan, will work together in unity to make the homeland of our ancestors even more prosperous and flourishing, promote our sovereign state, and further strengthen its authority and reputation in the international arena.

With these good intentions, I once again sincerely congratulate all the glorious people of Tajikistan and our compatriots living abroad on the arrival of the New Year 2026 and wish every family in the country, first and foremost, good health and happiness, abundance and prosperity, and to our beloved Tajikistan - even greater development and prosperity.
