County officials and West Boynton community members celebrated the completion and opening of two new multi-sport turf fields at West Boynton Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the evening of Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The new fields enhance recreational opportunities, expand athletic programming and improve access to high-quality facilities for residents and visitors in the community.
"This project reflects our continued commitment to providing high-quality, accessible recreational spaces for the community," said Jennifer Cirillo, Director of Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation. "The new multi-sport turf fields at West Boynton Park allows us to expand programming, accommodate more games and events, and ensure residents have reliable, year-round access to safe and well-maintained athletic facilities. It's an investment in both active lifestyles and the overall quality of life in Palm Beach County."
The conversion of the fields from natural grass to synthetic turf significantly increases field use, as turf fields do not require the annual 10-week renovation period typical of grass fields. The new surface also provides a quicker return to play following rainstorms due to improved drainage and helps reduce annual maintenance costs. With the synthetic turf fields now available, the park can host more games, tournaments and large-scale athletic events, further enhancing recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.
