ATLANTA - The Joint House and Senate Education Committee, co-chaired by State Representative Chris Erwin (R-Homer) and State Senator Billy Hickman (R-Statesboro), will hold a meeting on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in room 341 of the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta.
The committee meeting will discuss Senate Resolution 237, which urges the Professional Standards Commission, in collaboration with other departments, to develop recommendations to support Georgia's K-12 education workforce and strengthen the teacher and school leader pipeline. The meeting will also hear from directors reporting on literacy coach efficacy, including directors from Georgia Regional Education Service Agencies (RESA), Kathy Matthews with Growing Readers and Amy Denty with Comprehensive Support & Improvement (CSI).
