With European Funds to global markets. The second call for proposals in the Polish Technological Bridges project for companies planning to enter the USA, Canada, Great Britain and Brazil

5 March 2026
The Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) has announced the launch of the second call for proposals for the "Polish Technological Bridges" (PMT) project implemented under the European Funds for Modern Economy programme. The budget of the project in the years 2021-2029 is PLN 175 million.

The initiative is addressed to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises registered in Poland that plan to expand to markets outside the European Union. The aim of the project is to support companies in successfully entering prospective foreign markets through consulting, development of export competences and assistance in establishing business relationships.

In the second call, the following were selected as target markets: the United States, Great Britain, Canada and Brazil. These are economies with high innovation potential, offering a wide range of opportunities to scale their operations and build international brand recognition.

It is important to shift the economy from cheap labour and base it on Polish capital, Polish entrepreneurs, Polish innovations and technologies. Polish companies are effectively conquering foreign markets, effectively going beyond European markets to become a global presence. This presence is supported by the PMT program. - said the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz during the press conference.

The PMT project supports entrepreneurs in safe and effective entry into foreign markets in a two-stage formula.

In the first stage - the national one, implemented in the formula of cashless support, the grantees will take part in a three-day workshop that will familiarize the participants with the realities of functioning on the selected market. Each company will develop - with the support of an expert and the ZBH - an individual export strategy (up to 40 hours of consulting), tailored to its potential and business goals.

In addition to substantive support, PAIH's Foreign Trade Offices (ZBH) will help companies establish their first business contacts.

We are strengthening Polish entrepreneurs. The project fits perfectly into PAIH's mission, which is the internationalization of Polish companies. We have a network of Foreign Trade Offices operating within the structures of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and wide access to qualified industry and market experts. The key competencies of ZBH's are knowledge of local specifics, culture and business conditions, as well as the ability to identify the most important industries in individual markets. PMT grantees receive specific tips and proven contacts, which - we hope - will translate not only into efficient movement in the foreign business environment, but also into faster sales development - emphasizes Łukasz Gwiazdowski, Deputy Chairman of PAIH's Management Board.

The second stage - abroad includes activities enabling direct entry into the selected market. These include, among other things, participation in foreign trips, economic missions and fairs, product certification processes and information and promotional activities.

At this stage, entrepreneurs can obtain maximum financial support of up to PLN 150 thousand net to cover costs related to, among other things:

  • advice on introducing a product, service or technology to a foreign market (including legal and technical verification of documents for e-commerce models);
  • advice on the protection of intellectual property abroad;
  • design consulting adapting a product, service or technology to the requirements of a given market;
  • participation in industry conferences, fairs and internationalization programs (among other things, rental and construction of a stand, purchase of exhibition space, entry in the fair catalogue, entrance tickets, airline tickets, accommodation, insurance);
  • information and promotional activities;
  • translations.

The maximum grant amount is PLN 180 thousand as part of de minimis aid. The level of co-financing may reach up to 77 percent of the project value, which means that the company must provide 23 percent of its own contribution (VAT is not an eligible cost). The settlement of the project is based on the reimbursement of the costs actually incurred.

Applications can be submitted until 13 April 2026 at 4:00 p.m. only via the Project Service System (SOP).
