New Hours for the Motor Vehicle Division

Effective Thursday, Jan. 1, the Broomfield DMV office will operate on a four-day schedule to provide better customer service and less wait time - Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday: Closed.

Benefits of this Change

  • As a growing community, there is an increasing demand for services, including through the DMV.
  • Even with extraordinary efforts to keep up with this growing demand, Motor Vehicle staff are unable to keep up with the processing of requests to include vehicle titles and loans, lien releases and title transfers.
  • Because of this, customers were experiencing extended wait times, occasionally extending to more than 45 minutes.
  • This new schedule is a direct response to these operational challenges, helping create a more predictable and efficient environment for both customers and staff.
  • On Fridays, when the DMV is closed to the public, Motor Vehicle staff will focus on processing so that the majority of staff time on the other days can be used to ensure prompt service to residents needing in-person assistance.

What This Means for You

  • Streamlined Service: Friday will be used internally for paperwork and training, so your transactions move more efficiently during open hours.
  • Expert Assistance: Regular staff training means more knowledgeable service and fewer delays.
  • Four Full Days of Focused Service: Concentrated hours mean staff can dedicate complete attention to customer service.
