Griffith Announces $161,508 HHS Grant to Mount Rogers Community Services Board

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded the Mount Rogers Community Services Board, based in Wytheville, Virginia, a $161,508 grant. The funding supports local mental health services. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

"Mount Rogers Community Services leads a mental health awareness training program.

"This HHS grant for more than $161,000 helps Mount Rogers Community Services strengthen local community access to mental health services."

BACKGROUND

According to its website, the Mount Rogers Community Services Board serves the City of Galax well as Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth and Wythe Counties.

In July 2026, Congressman Griffith announced a $1 million HHS grant to the Board.

Mount Rogers Community Services operates multiple centers in the region.

As a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Congressman Griffith serves as the Chairman of the Health Subcommittee.
