Nashville Fire Department Investigators Make Aggravated Arson Arrest

The Nashville Fire Department's Fire Investigations Division have secured an arrest warrant charging David Lee Oliphant (Date of Birth: 12/24/1959) with Aggravated Arson following an investigation into a fire that occurred on October 27, 2026.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., investigators responded to a reported trash fire at 301 28th Avenue North. During the investigation, investigators reviewed surveillance footage that showed an individual intentionally igniting combustible materials at the location.

As part of their follow-up investigation, NFD investigators interviewed Oliphant and evaluated statements obtained during the interview alongside the surveillance evidence. Based on the evidence collected, investigators established probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant charging Oliphant with Aggravated Arson.

Oliphant has since been taken into custody and is being held at DCSO for the charge of Aggravated Arson in lieu of $10,000 bond amount.
