Willkie is representing Prismic Life Holding Company, LP in its agreement with Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) to reinsure a portion of Prudential's recently originated Japanese whole life policies.
Under the terms of the agreement, Prismic Life will reinsure approximately $5 billion of reserves backing USD-denominated Japanese whole life insurance policies originated by Prudential's Japanese affiliates.
Willkie represented Warburg Pincus in its launch of Prismic Life with Prudential Financial in 2023 and subsequently advised Prismic Life on numerous transactions.
Prismic Life is a Bermuda-based, growth-oriented life and annuity reinsurance platform sponsored by Prudential Financial and Warburg Pincus.
The Willkie team is led by partners David Luce and Thomas Mark and includes partners Amanda M. Burke, Terence Rozier-Byrd, Isaac Silverstein and Gongjin (Chloe) Wang and associates Kaila Solomon, Heejoo Kim, Claudia Greenspan and Abdallah Ibrahim.
