Lincoln Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash | 48th & St. Paul

UPDATE (November 17, 11 a.m.) | The victim has been identified as 61-year-old Kristine Hess of Omaha, Nebraska. The vehicle involved was a flatbed tow truck.

UPDATE (November 15, 2:35 p.m.) | The intersection is now back open, thanks for your patience.‬***On Saturday, November 15, around 10:45 a.m., Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire & Rescue personnel were dispatched to the intersection of North 48th and St. Paul streets on the report of a vehicle and pedestrian collision. Upon arrival, officers contacted passersby who were providing first aid to a woman in her 60s, who had been struck by a vehicle. Unfortunately, she passed away at the scene. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation. Due to investigative needs, the intersection of North 48th and St. Paul Streets will need to be closed for an extended period of time so that we ask drivers to use alternate routes and drive safely. The name of the victim is being withheld pending family notification at this time.
