USDA Offers On Site Assistance to Agricultural Producers at Hurricane Lala Disaster Resource Center

Hilo, Hawaii, Sept. 16, 2026 - The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) County Office in Hawaii County will be available at a Disaster Resource Center (DRC) at the Naalehu Hongwanji, Friday Sept. 18 from 10:00 a.m. to -3:00 p.m.

FSA and partnering agencies will be available to:

• Answer questions about disaster assistance programs-such as Emergency Conservation Program, Livestock Forage Disaster Program, Livestock Indemnity Program, Emergency Loans, Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program, and others;
• Provide hands-on support with applications and Notices of Loss; and
• Guide producers through program eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and deadlines.

"At the Disaster Resource Center, FSA staff will be ready to support producers impacted by Hurricane Lala," said Keadin Fujii, Hawaii County FSA Executive Director. "Our goal is to help you access every tool and resource available for recovery and rebuilding."

How to Participate

No appointment is needed, just drop in during the designated hours. Producers should bring:

1. Identification (e.g., driver's license);
2. Farm records or documentation of loss/damage; and
3. Relevant program forms or notices received, if applicable.
