Fall Leaf Collection Season Commences in New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (November 11, 2025) - The City's semi-annual leaf collection season has started.

Residents are asked to place bagged leaves curbside after 5 p.m. for collection on designated days city-wide. Biodegradable paper bags are required.

Residents are also urged to take advantage of free leaf bags for their fall cleanup. The bags can be obtained at the Department of Public Works, 400 Jersey Ave., on select dates and times.

Each property is eligible to receive a maximum of 20 free, biodegradable leaf bags during both the spring and autumn leaf collections. To pick up these bags, residents must present a current driver's license, municipal ID, deed, tax bill, or utility bill with a matching residential address in the City.

Here is the leaf collection schedule and map, and list of times and dates to get the leaf bags.
