New DIMETRA Connect solution provides seamless roaming between TETRA and broadband for more than 45,000 emergency services users
COPENHAGEN, Denmark - June 26, 2026 - Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) today announced the extension of Denmark's national TETRA communications network, Sikkerhedsnettet (SINE), through 2034, with an option for extension until 2039.
The network has been upgraded with the latest DIMETRA X Core software, including DIMETRA Connect, which extends the network reach with seamless roaming to the mobile phone network while maintaining secure radio features and encryption. The modernisation reflects Denmark's continued investment in land mobile radio as the resilient backbone of emergency services' mission-critical voice communications.
Motorola Solutions' MXP660 multi-bearer portable radios, paired with DIMETRA Connect, give Denmark's police, fire, and military users a lifeline that follows them across borders and jurisdictions. While land mobile radio (LMR) networks, such as SINE, continue to be the gold-standard for mission-critical voice communications, if a user moves beyond SINE's LMR coverage, the system automatically switches to send and receive the radio's voice and data via the mobile phone network. This transition happens automatically with zero manual intervention, allowing first responders to stay focused on the mission at hand.
"This technology is about peace of mind for our people," said Mogens Sandberg Brix, Division Officer and Inspector at Greater Copenhagen Fire Department. "Our teams can now operate across challenging environments knowing there's another level of resiliency protecting their essential communications."
"Denmark's continued investment in SINE shows how TETRA continues to act as the trusted foundation for mission-critical communications," said Michael Kaae, senior vice president, Sales International, Motorola Solutions. "As the first nation to deploy DIMETRA Connect, Denmark is setting a new benchmark for public safety communications across Europe. This modernisation provides 45,000 first responders with a seamless connection they can trust wherever the mission takes them, combining trusted radio reliability with broadband versatility, securing Denmark's mission-critical communications well into the next decade.
The contract, awarded in late 2023, reinforces the country's commitment to equipping and protecting its first responders with purpose-built public safety technologies designed for unwavering resiliency and reliability.
