'Gathering of Minds' murder mystery scheduled at Former Governors' Mansion

October 2, 2025

BISMARCK, N.D. - Time travel to 1889 when you attend "Gathering of Minds," a fantasy murder mystery party game Saturday, Nov. 1, 7-10 p.m. at the Former Governors' Mansion State Historic Site in Bismarck. Come dressed as you envision your assigned character. Interrogate the other guests for clues to solve the murder. Prior to the event, you will be emailed your character assignment and information about the person.

A mysterious dimensional rift has been opened in Edwinton, the capital city of the new independent state of Dakota, drawing some of the most influential people in history to one place. The gathering is meant to be a peaceful summit of minds to guide Dakota into the future as a leader among the alliance of states-but someone has been murdered, and space itself may unravel if the killer isn't found.

Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance on Eventbrite at MurderMysteryFGM.eventbrite.com. Nonalcoholic drinks and light appetizers will be served. Register early; the event is limited to 25 participants, ages 16 and up.

The Former Governors' Mansion, located at 320 E. Ave. B, Bismarck, is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Admission is free. The site is open for events and by appointment. For more information, call Site Supervisor Johnathan Campbell at 701.328.9528 or [email protected].
