COG receives award for Blue-Green Infrastructure project

The Regional Blue-Green Infrastructure (BGI) Community Engagement and Planning Project, completed in collaboration with the District of Columbia and Prince George's County, has been honored with a prestigious Grand Award in the American Council of Engineering Companies/Metropolitan Washington (ACEC/MW) Engineering Excellence Awards. This top honor recognizes the project's success in developing blue-green infrastructure solutions to increase flood resilience across the Watts Branch, Arundel Canal, and Oxon Run subwatersheds, which span jurisdictional lines. The BGI project is now in the running for a national engineering award, underscoring COG's commitment to creating a more sustainable and resilient metropolitan Washington.
