High school students can gain valuable insight into some of today's exciting career fields during the Berkeley College 2026 Summer Career Workshops, held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Woodland Park campus, 44 Rifle Camp Road. Students can choose from one of five specialized workshops: business, fashion, design, healthcare, or justice studies. Attendees will hear from industry professionals and participate in interactive seminars to learn about the training and skills they need to begin their educational and career journeys. The event is free, but registration is required.

"The Berkeley College Summer Workshops offer high school students career exploration and an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with Berkeley College, their peers, and industry professionals," said Laurie McBrinn, High School and Community Relations Coordinator, Admissions, Berkeley College. "These workshops give students the chance to spend a day with professionals and professors while exploring their passions. Our participants engage, inspire, and support one another, which will make a lasting impact on their futures."

High school students can choose from five hands-on sessions:

Unleash Your Leadership: Careers in Today's Business Environment

Attendees will explore careers in today's business environment and learn how leadership skills shape modern organizations.

Guest Speakers: Emilie Puliceo, Executive Assistant, Kaplen JCC on the Palisades; Crystal Fazzinga, Marketing Coordinator, Paterson Urban Enterprise Zone; and Stella Cicarone, Founder, SDC Consulting.

Fashion Frenzy: A Hands-on Workshop for Fashion Lovers

Students will participate in a hands-on fashion workshop focused on creativity, trend exploration, and the business of style with top professionals in the field.

Guest Speakers: Jasmine Stewart-Brown, Product Development Associate, Free Assembly - Walmart; Sofia Bosdandjian, Bridal Services Specialist, Vera Wang; and Vaughn Harper, Associate Store Manager, Merchandising, J.Crew.

Make. Create. Innovate: Unleash Your Design Potential

Students will discover design careers through interactive experiences that inspire innovation and creativity.

Guest Speakers: Tina Outieri, Entrepreneurial Design Leader, Ethan Allen Global, Inc.; Melissa Fotusky, Design Concierge, Sherwin-Williams; and Kathy Lopez, Art Director and Creative Partner.

Healing Careers: Navigating the Future of Healthcare

Students will learn about healthcare career pathways and the skills needed to succeed in today's growing healthcare industry from working professionals and Berkeley College professors.

Guest Speakers: Elizabeth Wyche, Surgical Processing Technician, Morristown Medical Center; Youcy Fuentes, Hackensack Meridian Health; and Elisa Carrera, Outreach Coordinator, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

Justice in Focus: Exploring Crime, Law, and Society

Students will explore crime, law, and society while gaining insight into justice-related career opportunities.

Guest Speakers: Anthony Graham, Police Officer, NJ TRANSIT Police Department; Shamisa Anthony Hickman, Law Clerk, Scura, Wigfield, Heye, Stevens & Cammarota, LLC; and Kim Swilpa, Executive Director, New Jersey Angels.
