OGE employees donate part of their salaries to charity

"This campaign keeps reminding me how much our society depends on social commitment and how many different forms it can take. Donations make important projects possible, but your commitment goes far beyond financial support: you give your time, take responsibility, build personal relationships and provide direct support to people in need. This deserves our utmost respect, and I would like to my heartfelt thanks - also on behalf of my fellow board members and all OGE employees," said Nathalie Leroy, addressing representatives of the organisations attending the ceremony.

"This year our employees nominated more than 40 charities and non-profit organisations. This shows that our colleagues care and want to help where support is needed. We were very much impressed by the variety of the organisations proposed and the great work they do," added Önder Ata.

This year's donation recipients:

  • adventurecare e. V., Weißenfeld
  • Fatigatio e. V. - Bundesverband ME/CFS, Berlin
  • Frauen helfen Frauen e. V. (Women Help Women), Oberhausen
  • Generationen verbinden - gemeinsam gegen Einsamkeit (Bridging Generations - Together Against Loneliness), Essen
  • Ihr Pfand hilft Obdachlosen e. V. (Bottle Deposits for the Homeless), Bochum
  • Social BallerZ e. V., Gelsenkirchen
  • Tiergestütztes Kinderhospiz (Animal-Assisted Children's Hospice) Gut Feismann, Nottuln
  • Tierschutzverein Lauterbach e. V (Animal Welfare Association)
  • Verein für körper- und mehrfachbehinderte Menschen Alsbachtal e. V. (Association for People with Physical and Multiple Disabilities), Oberhausen
  • Verein zur Hilfe suchtmittelabhängiger Frauen Essen e. V. (Association for the Support of Women with Substance Dependency)

Further donation ceremonies involving selected charitable organisations will take place in Herbstein and Legden in November.

A long-standing tradition of giving

OGE's Last Few Cents campaign has a long tradition. Employees donate the cents from their monthly salaries or round down their monthly pay to contribute to good causes. OGE then tops up the amounts collected before distributing the donations to charitable organisations.

The large number of nominations submitted this year once again highlights how important social engagement is to OGE employees. Through the campaign, the company supports organisations working across a wide range of fields, helping them continue their valuable work and provide assistance where it is needed most.
