Rancho Drive Improvements From Sahara To Charleston Begin Feb. 23
24-Hour Lane Restrictions Will Reduce Traffic To One Lane In Work Areas
Roadway improvements on Rancho Drive from Sahara Avenue to Charleston Boulevard, plus the intersection of Rancho Lane with Tonopah Drive, will begin Monday, Feb. 23, 2026. The project is expected to last approximately 18 months and have 24-hour lane restrictions, reducing Rancho Drive to one lane in each direction in work areas between Sahara and Charleston, with an added left-turn lane at signalized intersections.
The project will begin in two locations: the northbound lanes of Rancho Drive and the Rancho Lane/Tonopah Drive intersection. Motorists should expect traffic delays; I-15 or Valley View Boulevard are recommended as alternate routes for north/south travel. See the map.
The work will consist of removing existing roadway and constructing new roadway improvements on Rancho Drive, including pavement, concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, cross gutter, bus turnouts, medians, storm drain improvements, water line improvements, underground utility infrastructure, pavement markings and markers, permanent signs, landscaping (including street trees and irrigation system), installation of street lights, traffic signal modifications and fiber-optic cable.
Las Vegas Paving is the contractor. The project cost is estimated at $30 million, funded by the city of Las Vegas, the Southern Nevada Regional Transportation Commission and Lumen (formerly known as CenturyLink). For questions and concerns, contact Jeromy Lee at [email protected].
