Nexstar Media Foundation Announces Honorees for Day Eighteen of “30 Days of Giving” Initiative

Marion County Humane Society and Kids with Courage Named as Recipients of $5,000 Grants

Irving, TX (June 18, 2026) - Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that the Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation is making a $5,000 contribution to both the Marion County Humane Society and Kids with Courage as part of the company's "30 Days of Giving" initiative, a month-long program recognizing and supporting nonprofit and charitable organizations serving communities across Nexstar's nationwide footprint.

"30 Days of Giving" is an employee-driven initiative created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nexstar's founding in June 1996. Locally-led committees reviewed submissions from Nexstar's 13,000 employees and selected charitable and nonprofit organizations to nominate for grants. More than 100 organizations were nominated, and the Nexstar Charitable Foundation's Board of Directors chose 60 to receive $5,000 each. Every day during the month of June, the Foundation will award two $5,000 grants; by the end of the month the Foundation will have committed $300,000 to "30 Days of Giving."

The Foundation today recognized the Marion County Humane Society and Kids with Courage as recipients of $5,000 grants. The organizations were nominated by employees at WBOY-TV, the Nexstar television station serving Clarksburg/Weston, WV, and WDAF-TV in Kansas City, MO, respectively.

The Marion County Humane Society (MCHS) in West Virginia is a no-kill animal welfare organization serving over 56,000 residents and providing quality care for more than 5,000 animals each year. For more than 80 years, MCHS has served as a safe haven for abandoned animals. While caring for all Marion County strays is a priority, the organization accepts surrendered animals and does not euthanize for space. MCHS provides financial assistance to spay or neuter a pet and offers K-12 students education in animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.

The "30 Days of Giving" grant will help finance the construction of a new shelter featuring 30 indoor/outdoor dog runs and three cat rooms with enclosed porches. The new facility will also include a whelping room for canine litters, intake areas for new arrivals, and isolation rooms for those animals requiring medical care.

"The Marion County Humane Society does incredible work, and we are proud to help support that mission through this grant from the Nexstar Charitable Foundation," Jim Dodrill, Vice President and General Manager of WBOY-TV in Clarksburg/Weston, WV. "Many of us at WBOY are animal lovers, and over the years, we've had the opportunity to volunteer with local animal shelters and see firsthand the difference these organizations make. After covering the large-scale cat rescue effort in Marion County, we saw just how willing the Humane Society was to step up when help was most needed. We are grateful for everything they do for our community."

Kids with Courage (KWC) supports children and their families following a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis by easing fear and isolation, and providing immediate emotional support, practical tools, guidance, and encouragement as they adjust to life with the condition. To help families navigate those overwhelming early moments, KWC created its Brave Box Program. In partnership with children's hospitals and their medical teams, Brave Boxes are delivered to newly diagnosed children and their families, often within 24 hours of diagnosis. Each box is designed to provide comfort, support, and strength.

KWC also offers a range of other programs, including diabetes education classes for caregivers, grandparents, friends, healthcare providers, and school personnel; a free pen pal club that connects families with others who can relate and understand the Type 1 journey; and academic scholarships. Since 2016, Kids with Courage has awarded more than $63,000 in scholarships.

"As we celebrate Nexstar's Founder's Day and 30 Days of Giving, we're proud to support Kids with Courage and the hope they bring to families facing a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis," said Tracy Brogden Miller, Vice President and General Manager of WDAF-TV in Kansas City, MO. "Their work provides comfort and courage when it's needed most, and we're honored to invest in an organization making a lasting difference in our community."
