Milling and Resurfacing on Route 87 in Franklin

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 87 in Franklin. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, July 7 and be completed on Friday, August 7, 2026. Project No. DOT01720558CN "B" consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.05-mile segment of Route 87 in Franklin from the begin Route 87 at Route 32 intersection to the Franklin/Lebanon Town Line. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Advanced Asphalt Recycling LLC on Tuesday,

July 7, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project by Tilcon CT Inc. is anticipated to begin on Monday, July 27 to Friday, August 7, 2026.

This project is included in CTDOT's 2026 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 87 in Franklin from the begin Route 87 at Route 32

intersection to the Franklin/Lebanon Town Line. Traffic control personnel, crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
