Children’s National is first children's hospital in the nation to employ new automated laboratory line - Children's National

Children's National has launched a fully operational automated laboratory testing line designed to improve efficiency, expand testing capacity and help deliver results more quickly to patients and families.

"Every sample represents a child and family waiting for answers," said Meghan Delaney, DO, MPH, associate chief clinical officer and chief of Pathology and Lab Medicine at Children's National. "This technology helps us deliver those answers more efficiently while giving our laboratory professionals more time to focus on the complex work that requires their expertise."

This is the first children's hospital in the nation to use this technology that connects clinical chemistry and immunoassay testing into one streamlined process. Once a sample is loaded, an automated track and robotic technology help move it through processing and analysis with less manual handling and faster release of results.
