Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to begin its Capital Preventive Maintenance project along Northbound and Southbound US-101 from Wornum Drive to Corte Madera Creek. The area covers the cities of San Rafael, Larkspur and Corte Madera.
Various lanes are scheduled to be closed from Tuesday, May 12 to Friday, May 15 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
Crews will remove existing pavement striping, restripe the roadway for temporary lane delineation, and install a temporary barrier in the median along this stretch of US-101.
The project will eventually pave the on- and off-ramps from Wornum Creek Undercrossing to the Miller Creek Bridge.
All work is dependent on weather.
The project covers approximately 7.30 miles, totaling 54.2 lane miles of roadway improvements.
The target completion of the project is summer of 2027.
Pavement rehabilitation is a roadway maintenance effort focused on extending the service life of existing pavement and delaying the need for more extensive rehabilitation or full reconstruction. This type of work is not intended to significantly increase or restore the pavement's structural integrity.
