Columbia Police respond to assault in 1600 block of Richardson Street, April 24.

(COLUMBIA, MO) - At approximately 12:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault in progress in the 1600 block of Richardson Street.

Initial information indicated two parties were in an altercation and one party was stabbed. Upon arrival, officers detained a person and provided emergency medical care to the injured person. EMS and Columbia Fire Department personnel respond to manage medical care. One person was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

No additional threats were reported or observed.

Columbia Police would like to thank all the first responders to this incident.

There is no current threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
