City Commission Commemorates Domestic Violence Awareness Month
The City's Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) hosts its 11th-annual Purple Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 pm on Wednesday, October 7, on the front steps of the Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 W. Washington St. The event commemorates Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. Participants are encouraged to wear purple to acknowledge domestic violence survivors and victims.
The CSW partnered with the Guilford County Family Justice Center, the Greensboro Police Department, the Greensboro Human Rights Department, and the Guilford County Sheriff's Office in this event.
