The City of Southfield Parks & Recreation Department invites the community to celebrate Black History Month at Rhythm of Our Roots, a free indoor music festival featuring world-class Detroit talent on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Southfield Pavilion, 26000 Evergreen Road.
The event showcases an all-star lineup of acclaimed performers, including legendary soul singer Spyder Turner, internationally recognized jazz flutist Alexander Zonjic and his All-Stars, jazz violin virtuoso Evan Garr, neo-soul vocalist Angela Davis, classical crossover duo Florella Strings, and a special performance by the internationally acclaimed Detroit Youth Choir. FOX 2 Detroit's Lori Pinson will serve as master of ceremonies.
In addition to live music, attendees can enjoy food vendors and educational exhibits provided by the Black History 101 Mobile Museum. Seating will be provided, with a capacity limit of 800.
