NEW REPORT: Trump’s Job Market is Bleeding, As Layoffs Hit Nearly 1.1 MILLION in 2025 Alone Arrow

New data released today from Challenger, Gray & Christmas revealed that under Donald Trump's watch, U.S. employers announced over 150,000 job cuts in October, a 183% spike from September and the most for any October in over 20 years. This new report brings the total number of job cuts to 1.1 million in 2025 alone - a number on par with the job cuts during the Great Recession in 2009. Major companies, such as Amazon, UPS, and GM have announced tens of thousands of job cuts.

Trump and Republicans have desperately tried to deceive the American people into believing that the pain they're feeling in Trump's economy doesn't exist - but Tuesday's elections proved that voters aren't falling for it. Trump's approval on the economy is 18 points underwater, with his handling of inflation at an abysmal -30 points.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

"Donald Trump's economy gets worse by the day, and everyday Americans are paying the price. As working families already struggle to get by, Trump's reckless tariffs are driving up prices and throwing the job market into freefall. Hiring is frozen, employers are slashing jobs left and right, and Americans are left wondering how they're going to pay their rent and put food on the table. Meanwhile, Trump is keeping the government shut down, refusing to provide full SNAP payments to the 42 million Americans who rely on it, and letting health care premiums skyrocket. If Republicans are wondering why they lost so badly in Tuesday's elections they should look no further than Trump's disastrous economy."

Just yesterday, Trump said that if he "didn't put tariffs, the entire world would be in a depression right now." The reality is that Trump's unhinged trade war is wreaking havoc on the economy, everyday Americans are drowning under skyrocketing prices, and job cuts are mirroring those of a recession. Trump has spent his entire presidency proving that the people he serves aren't working families - he serves only himself and the top 1%.
