Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman today received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Gideon Moshe Sa'ar, at Banski dvori.

Following their meeting yesterday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine, Varsen Aghabekian, Plenković and Grlić Radman today also met with Israeli Foreign Minister Sa'ar as part of Croatia's broader efforts to contribute to global initiatives aimed at stabilizing the situation in the Middle East. On this occasion, Grlić Radman will travel today to Amman to meet his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, before continuing on to Syria.

Talks with the Israeli minister focused on alleviating the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and on advancing international political and diplomatic efforts to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which began following Hamas's terrorist attack on Israel in October 2023.

Plenković stressed that the immediate priority is a ceasefire and the protection of civilians. "It is urgent to end the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, ensure the release of all hostages, and secure the unhindered delivery of aid to the affected population, particularly women and children," the prime minister said.

He emphasized that the Croatian Government will continue dialogue with all parties, remaining firmly committed to lasting peace and security, as well as to achieving a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine. He also underlined Croatia's ongoing humanitarian support for the population of Gaza. To date, aid worth €4 million has been provided, including €1 million for children in Gaza through UNICEF and the delivery of 400 tons of wheat flour.

In light of the recent terrorist attack in Jerusalem, Plenković expressed condolences to the Israeli minister for the loss of lives.
