Chinese PLA Navy's first Type 076 amphibious assault ship 'Sichuan' set off for South China Sea for experimental training

BEIJING, April 21 -- China's first Type 076 amphibious assault ship, PLANS Sichuan (Hull 51), recently set off from Shanghai to conduct scientific research experiments and training tasks in relevant waters in the South China Sea, testing the operation of multiple systems and platforms of the vessel.

Since its launch, PLANS Sichuan has successfully completed several trial voyages. This experimental training is a normal cross-regional test and training organized according to the overall equipment construction plan, and is not targeted at any specific objective.
