Members of the Junior League of Tampa will gather outside Old City Hall today to celebrate the organization's centennial anniversary.

They will be joined by Mayor Jane Castor, who will be issuing a proclamation and presenting organization leaders with a Key to the City, as well as Tampa City Councilwoman Naya Young, and Hillsborough County Commissioner Harry Cohen.

Founded on April 2, 2026, the Junior League of Tampa has been dedicated to serving under-represented women, children, and families. Each year volunteers work approximately 50,000 hours and raise millions of dollars for community programs and initiatives, like the Diaper Bank, which distributes about one million diapers each year to families in need.

"For 100 years, the Junior League of Tampa has held a steady and noticeable presence in our community - building on its goals each and every year to help as many individuals as possible," said Mayor Jane Castor. "Their energy and love for what they do is palpable and I sincerely thank each and every member for their contributions to make our city better."

The Junior League of Tampa's flag will also be raised above Old City Hall to commemorate the anniversary.
