June 4 - 7, 2026 | Long Beach, CA

MONTGOMERY, AL - Mayor Steven L. Reed is traveling to Long Beach, California this week to attend the 94th Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM), joining more than 200 other local leaders to discuss the latest challenges facing American cities, such as housing affordability, public safety, infrastructure investment, local-federal partnerships, artificial intelligence, and immigration policy.

At the meeting, Mayor NAME will participate in engaging discussions, committee meetings, and plenary sessions with fellow mayors to chart a unified agenda for America's cities for the coming year and the nation's 250th anniversary. The mayors will also vote on policy resolutions that will guide the Conference's activities this year and inaugurate San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria as the 84th President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

By attending, Mayor NAME will collaborate on solutions to the issues that matter most to CITY residents, strengthen valuable partnerships with fellow local leaders, and ensure the needs of CITY are reflected and advanced in key policy discussions in the year to come.

Mayor Reed said attending the U.S. Conference of Mayors' Annual Meeting is an important opportunity for Montgomery to help shape the national conversation on the issues impacting American families every day.

"By working alongside mayors from across the country, we are ensuring that Montgomery's voice is heard and that our priorities - safer neighborhoods, stronger infrastructure, affordable housing, and responsible innovation - are reflected in the solutions being crafted," Mayor Reed said. "Our participation strengthens the partnerships that move our city forward and helps secure the resources and ideas that will improve quality of life for every Montgomery resident."

U.S. Conference of Mayors CEO and Executive Director Tom Cochran agrees with Mayor Reed that the U.S. Conference of Mayors Annual Meeting is an invaluable forum for local leaders to collaborate on solutions to the urgent challenges facing American cities.

"Each year, mayors from across the country come together to share success stories, develop policy solutions, and pave the way for meaningful progress," said U.S. Conference of Mayors CEO and Executive Director Tom Cochran. "We thank Long Beach Mayor Rex

Richardson for welcoming us to his city and graciously hosting us while we engage in this critical work."

All plenary sessions will be streamed live on the Conference's YouTube channel and social media platforms.
