Morgan Wallen 's Sand In My Boots Festival is set to return in the spring.
Wallen shared the festival's announcement on his Instagram story on Monday afternoon (October 19). The announcement only reveals that the event will take place again in May 2027 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Wallen has not confirmed additional details - including exact dates, lineups and more - as of publication time.
The inaugural three-day festival took place in 2025. It sold out within hours on October 2024. Wallen headlined the event and curated a genre-blending lineup that included Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn and HARDY, to name a few. Wallen said in a statement at that time: "We started talking about curating a festival that includes my friends, and artists who have influenced me, years ago. It took a lot of folks a lot of hours to plan Sand In My Boots, and it only took two hours for y'all to sell it out. We can't wait to deliver a special weekend for everyone in May."
The festival, previously named Hangout Music Fest, did not take place in 2026. Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft confirmed in December 2025 that "we will not have the event in 2025," according to Birmingham, Alabama-based AL.com. "We are already approving the event in 2027. …We delayed too long, or they did, in their application to be able to get the kind of acts that we required them to have to be successful in 2026. We will refuse to let them go back to the acts that we've had before. So they couldn't do it and so they canceled the 2026 event."
The official Sand In Mu Boots Festival account stated in a caption on Instagram, "Sand In My Boots returns to Gulf Shores in 2027. Stay tuned, y'all…"
