NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - Penn State Altoona women's volleyball's libero/defensive specialist Brianna Woodring, of Greencastle, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Defensive Player of the Week, after the league announced its weekly awards on Sept. 29.
Woodring would compile 50 digs and averaged 5 digs per set during a 3-0 week of non-conference play for the Lions last week.
In a 3-1 victory against Chatham University last Thursday, Woodring would be the team leader in digs, tallying 26 digs.
Woodring would follow up that performance with 22 digs in a three-set sweep of Wilkes. In her second game of the tri-match that weekend, she would have two digs in a yet another three-set sweep, this time against Bard.
