Moved to Finland for work or study? Take part in a survey on immigration models and streamlined service pathways

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is seeking insights from people who have moved to Finland based on work or study. The responses will be used in the Ministry's studies on immigration models and ways to streamline official processes during the immigration entry stage.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is preparing two separate studies that examine immigration models and ways to streamline the service path during the initial entry phase.

The study on immigration models looks at how work-based immigration is organized in the EU and in other countries comparable to Finland, with special focus on different points-based system. The study also assesses the potential impacts that adopting a points-based system or another new model for work-based immigration could have in Finland.

The study on streamlining official processes during the entry stage, in turn, aims to identify what a one-stop-shop model could mean in the short and long term, as well as to explore the possible paths forward for improving the efficiency of these processes.

As a part of the studies, the Ministry is consulting with different stakeholders and focus groups. This survey is targeted for residents of Finland who have immigrated based on work or study. The answers will be utilized in the preparation of both studies.
Both studies will be completed in May 2026.

The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. The survey is open until Monday, April 20th at 4:15 p.m. The survey is in English.
