UHart's Career Exploration Day gave the students a chance to connect with representatives of nearly 20 industry partners from a wide range of industries.
"Career Exploration Day offers students a unique chance to step out of comfort zones and engage with professionals, ask meaningful questions, and gain insight into potential career paths," said Alex Coury, associate vice president for industry partnerships and career experiences. "The event has grown into a valued tradition that unites students from all majors and colleges in a dynamic, professional setting."
Those professional settings were widely varied: high-tech manufacturers such as Hartford Steam Boiler and Triumph Aerospace, insurance companies such as CIGNA, healthcare providers such as CVS Health and Masonicare, and even sports and recreation companies like the Hartford Yard Goats. Students also got to visit the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, and met with representatives of the Connecticut Airport Authority at Bradley International Airport.
