Official Visit of Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese, 10 April 2026.

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong had a meeting with Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese on 10 April 2026, followed by a Joint Press Conference. Prime Minister Wong will host lunch for Prime Minister Albanese in the afternoon.

Prime Minister Wong and Prime Minister Albanese reaffirmed the strong and longstanding relations between Singapore and Australia, anchored by the Singapore-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) 2.0 launched in October 2025.

The Prime Ministers had discussions on the global energy situation and agreed on the importance of upholding open and rules-based trade. In this regard, the Leaders committed to keeping supply chains open and supporting the unimpeded flow of essential goods between Singapore and Australia. Singapore reaffirmed that it will continue supplying refined petroleum products, including diesel, to Australia, as long as we have upstream crude oil supplies to our refineries. Australia affirmed that it will continue to supply liquefied natural gas to Singapore.

The Prime Ministers signed a Joint Statement on Economic Resilience and Essential Supplies, which laid out concrete steps towards greater supply chain resilience. This includes the conclusion of a legally binding Protocol to the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA) on Economic Resilience and Essential Supplies, the establishment of an Australia-Singapore Economic Resilience Dialogue and convening the inaugural Energy Ministerial Dialogue.

The Prime Ministers also exchanged views on key regional and international geopolitical developments.
