SWFWMD extends water restrictions to Oct. 1

Published on June 30, 2026

The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) recently voted to extend the district's Phase III watering restrictions through Oct. 1. Due to ongoing drought conditions and lack of rainfall throughout the region, the restriction applies to all residents, including those on private wells, to continue following a one-day-per-week watering schedule.
Watering hours are limited to overnight (8 p.m. - 11:59 p.m. or 12 a.m. - 4 a.m.) on your watering day.

Violations could result in code enforcement action and fines of up to $1,000. Activities using reclaimed water, such as car washes, golf courses and roadway median watering, are exempt under the restriction.
