New family-friendly laws take effect in Colorado
Denver, Colo. - Those families are already eligible for 12 weeks of bonding like other newborn families. This new law gives parents the extra time while their child is in the hospital.
"Having a parent at the bedside, I always say this to all the parents, is, 'You're like medicine for your baby,'" said Dr. Jennifer Zank, a neonatologist at HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.
