The results of the 9th European Statistics Competition are almost out, and excitement is in the building.
Save the date and join us on 25 June, 2026, at 10.30 CEST, for the award ceremony, live from Sofia, Bulgaria, and online on the YouTube channel of Statistics Spain.
At the ceremony, we will announce the 5 best videos in each category of students: junior (14-16 years) and senior (16-18 years) and reveal the winning teams. This year, students were asked to create a statistical portrait of their country, by using official statistics to show what people there are like. This exercise illustrates how data can help break down prejudices and misconceptions behind national stereotypes.
The European Statistics Competition is a fun way to promote statistical literacy among secondary school students and help them discover the power of official statistics. Throughout the competition, student teams tackle statistical challenges and bring numbers to life in engaging videos.
The competition has grown each year, rising from over 11 000 students in 11 countries in 2018 to nearly 29 000 in 22 countries in 2026. And every year, the videos become more and more creative.
