Palm Bay’s Leaders in Training Team Launches Malabar Road Beautification Project and Community Surveys

Palm Bay's Leaders in Training Excellence (LITE) Team is leading the Malabar Road Beautification Project, a corridor improvement initiative focused on enhancing safety, functionality, aesthetics, and civic identity along one of the City's most significant transportation corridors.

Palm Bay's Leaders in Training (LITE) Program is an internal leadership development initiative that brings together City staff from across departments to collaborate on meaningful, community-focused projects. Through this program, participants work as a team to identify opportunities for improvement that enhance quality of life and strengthen community identity throughout Palm Bay.

Malabar Road serves as a major gateway into the City, a designated parade route, and the location of Palm Bay City Hall-positioning the corridor as an important civic spine for the community. The Malabar Road Beautification Project aims to explore enhancements that improve roadway safety, pedestrian and bicycle access, streetscape appearance, placemaking opportunities, and overall corridor character.

As part of the project, the LITE Team is seeking input from residents and business owners to help guide future planning and improvement concepts. Community feedback will be used to better understand priorities related to landscaping, corridor appearance, lighting, signage, mobility features, and other potential enhancements.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to participate in the online surveys:

The final day to participate in the surveys is Monday, February 23, 2026.

In addition to the surveys, the public is invited to attend a Public Open House, where the LITE Team will review survey results, share project information, and gather additional feedback in person.
