On July 13, 2026, H.E. Mr. Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Mr. Sylvain KALSAKAU, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Vanuatu.

Ambassador Jia stated that Vanuatu is China's good friend and reliable partner among Pacific island nations. The China-Vanuatu comprehensive strategic partnership has maintained steady growth, yielding fruitful cooperation outcome across all sectors. It sets a model of mutual respect, solidarity and cooperation for developing countries. China stands ready to deepen coordination with Vanuatu on multilateral platforms in Geneva to jointly uphold multilateralism.

Ambassador KALSAKAU stressed that Vanuatu attaches great importance to Vanuatu-China relations. He expressed gratitude for China's long-standing sincere assistance and voiced appreciation of China's historic development achievements. Vanuatu is willing to forge closer international multilateral coordination with China and advance bilateral ties to new heights.
