Jakarta, July 24, 2026 - PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) recorded positive performance throughout 2025 amidst various challenges facing the global shipping industry. This achievement stems from the company's consistency in maintaining fleet operational reliability and sustainable business management, in line with PIS's commitment to supporting national energy distribution.
Throughout 2025, PIS transported 107.69 billion liters of crude oil, refinery products, fuel, and LPG, ensuring a reliable energy supply across all corners of Indonesia. As part of the Pertamina Group, PIS conducts its business to support Indonesia's economic growth, enhance public welfare, and preserve Indonesian oceans for future generations.
During 2025, PIS contributed IDR 4.87 trillion to the state through taxes and dividends to support Indonesia's economic growth. PIS also extended support to other domestic industries, including vessel maintenance and capacity building for the national shipbuilding industry, alongside supporting Indonesian seafarers.
Financially, PIS recorded revenue of US$ 3,333.69 million in 2025. From this revenue, the company posted a net profit of US$ 572.48 million, reflecting a 2.49% increase compared to the previous year. In addition to playing a crucial role in national energy distribution, this positive performance was supported by cost efficiency and portfolio expansion, including in the non-captive business segment.
Significant growth was recorded in the LNG transportation sector. PIS transported 11 LNG shipments, equivalent to 5.5 times the 2024 realization, reflecting growing trust from domestic LNG customers. Furthermore, the expansion of international gas & petrochemical cargo portfolios was achieved through 28 shipments of Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM). This business diversification was further strengthened by entering new segments, including the maiden shipment of 30,216 metric tons of slab steel that underscoring PIS's commitment to expanding its industrial downstreaming portfolio beyond conventional energy transport.
"The growth in net profit and revenue achieved in 2025 is the result of a combination of fleet strengthening, business expansion, operational discipline, and cost efficiency consistently executed across all business lines. This proves that PIS can continue to grow amidst dynamic geopolitical challenges in the industry," said Acting Corporate Secretary of PIS, Vega Pita.
Fleet capacity expansion also served as a foundation for these achievements. PIS managed and supervised a total of 111 vessel units in 2025 prior to downstream business integration within Pertamina Group.
"The fleet strengthening carried out throughout 2025 is a tangible demonstration of PIS's ongoing growth; this capacity expansion serves as concrete evidence of PIS's contribution to national economic growth," Vega explained.
In its Net Zero Emission (NZE) efforts, PIS successfully reduced emissions by 116,761 tCO2e or 158% above the 2025 target. The largest contribution came from voyage optimization, enabling vessels to achieve higher fuel efficiency through advanced technology and eco-friendly fuels.
PIS's commitment to sustainability is also reflected in the BB ESG rating received from MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International). This achievement underscores PIS's maturing performance in managing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks.
PIS's achievements were further driven by reliable and highly qualified human resources, as demonstrated by improving employee productivity, reflected in its recognition as Top Employer Indonesia 2025.
PIS also reinforced its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) commitment, reaching 76,151 beneficiaries. In collaboration with doctorSHARE, the Floating Hospital program in Waigeo provided 60 days of healthcare services in 3T (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost) regions to 4,099 patients.
In environmental conservation, PIS planted 38,000 mangroves, 3,200 seagrasses, and 625 corals, while successfully tagging seven whale sharks to support marine biodiversity conservation efforts.
"We are grateful that our fleet expansion, driven by operational discipline and world-class safety standards, has contributed to enhancing our fleet's capacity and competitiveness while boosting financial performance. Our achievements throughout 2025 serve as a vital stepping stone for PIS to continuously strengthen its competitive edge in the sustainable global maritime industry," added Vega.
