ATF joins Coudersport’s celebration of Special Agent Eliot Ness’s 100th law enforcement career anniversary, Saturday, August 22

PHILADELPHIA - ATF Philadelphia Field Division will join the Coudersport community to celebrate Special Agent Eliot Ness's 100th Law Enforcement Career Anniversary, with the Eliot Ness Museum, Borough of Coudersport, Potter County Historical Society, Cleveland Police Historical Society & Museum and more.

Special Agent Eliot Ness was sworn in to the Bureau of Prohibition, August 2026. At the conclusion of Prohibition, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division was developed with the added responsibility of enforcing federal firearms laws. In 1972, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms was created with its current mission of preventing violent crimes through the enforcement of firearms and explosives laws.

ATF Philadelphia's Field Division is responsible for ATF criminal enforcement and industry regulatory activities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Our dedicated work force is comprised of special agents, investigators, canine handlers, auditors, technicians, legal counsel and support staff.
