IEDA Board approves assistance for six manufacturers, two startups and three community quality-of-life projects

September 18, 2026 (DES MOINES, IA) - Today, the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) Board approved tax credits for six manufacturing companies, which will assist in the creation of 346 jobs and result in nearly $246.5 million in new capital investment for the state. These projects are located in Altoona, Ankeny, Bondurant, Centerville, Davenport and Woodbine. The board also approved assistance for two startups in Ankeny and Des Moines. In addition, a project in Des Moines received a Destination Iowa grant, and projects in Jewell and West Point received Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) grants.

Summit Products to expand manufacturing operations in Altoona

Infonet Corp, doing business as Summit Products, Inc., manufactures metal-fabricated products for original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket, including UTV accessories, truck toppers, recreational vehicle components and motorized vehicle windows. The company plans to expand its existing Altoona facility by 30,080 square feet and add new manufacturing equipment, including robotics, automation, a laser work center and metal panel bending equipment. The $5.73 million capital investment is expected to create 21 jobs, with three incented at a qualifying wage of $35.11 per hour. The board awarded $193,000 in tax credits through the Business Incentives for Growth (BIG) program.

Accu-Mold to add 53,000 square feet in Ankeny

Accu-Mold LLC in Ankeny manufactures precision micro injection molded components for medical device, electronics and fiber optics companies. The company plans to construct a 53,000-square-foot addition to increase production capacity, with additional space for a quality lab, tool maintenance equipment and offices to support employee growth. The $33.25 million capital investment is expected to create 150 jobs, with 20 incented at a qualifying wage of $34.53 per hour. The board awarded $1.08 million in tax credits through the BIG program.

Pratt Industries to establish first Iowa manufacturing facility in Bondurant

Pratt (4.0 Corrugating), LLC, a subsidiary of Pratt Corrugated Holdings, Inc., is part of Atlanta-based Pratt Industries, Inc., one of the largest privately held paper and packaging companies in the United States. Pratt plans to establish its first Iowa manufacturing facility in Bondurant to produce corrugated packaging and other corrugated products. The project includes more than $80 million in manufacturing equipment and is expected to create 105 jobs, with 20 incented at a qualifying wage of $35.11 per hour. The $97.6 million capital investment is also expected to increase the company's use of Iowa suppliers. The board awarded $1.8 million in tax credits through the BIG program.

Amcor to increase packaging production in Centerville

Amcor Flexibles North America, Inc. manufactures flexible packaging in Centerville - including pouches, films, bags, sachets and wraps - for the food, beverage, health care, pharmaceutical, personal care, home care and pet care industries. With its Centerville facility fully utilized, the company plans to add new machinery and equipment to increase production capacity for advanced, multilayer packaging films. The $44.55 million capital investment is expected to create 24 jobs, with 20 incented at a qualifying wage of $22.32 per hour. The board awarded $2 million in tax credits through the BIG program.

Infiltrator Water Technologies to grow manufacturing operations in Davenport

Infiltrator Water Technologies, part of Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc., manufactures products for decentralized wastewater treatment, including environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional concrete septic tanks and stone-and-pipe leach fields. Sales of its EZflow® product line have expanded westward, and the company plans to expand manufacturing operations into an existing 84,000-square-foot Davenport facility, with new production equipment and office space. The $7.36 million capital investment is expected to create 26 jobs, with one incented at a qualifying wage of $28.46 per hour. The board awarded $134,964 in tax credits through the BIG program.

Woodbine Manufacturing Co. to build new facility in Harrison County

Founded in Woodbine in 1965, family-owned Woodbine Manufacturing Co. designs and produces hydraulic liftgates and cargo-handling equipment for commercial vehicles under the Tommy Gate and Anteo brands. The company plans to construct a new manufacturing facility in Harrison County to increase production capacity, expand existing product lines and add new products. The $58 million capital investment is expected to create 20 jobs, all incented at a qualifying wage of $27.75 per hour. The board awarded $2.18 million in tax credits through the BIG program.

Awards made to two startups

Des Moines-based bindl, inc. is developing a software platform to help organizations that serve people experiencing homelessness coordinate services and track progress toward housing, employment and well-being goals. The company grew from work at Central Iowa Shelter & Services in Des Moines, where the platform was built to empower the people it serves. A $50,000 Proof of Commercial Relevance loan will support market validation by collecting structured outcome data from launch customers, developing training and implementation materials and building the company's customer success function as it prepares to scale the platform to additional communities.

SABER Chemical, Inc., an Iowa company based in Ankeny, is commercializing SABERFlex-1101, a bio-based polylactic acid alloy and resin. The material can be made from corn-derived sugars, is designed to be tougher and more durable than conventional bio-based plastics and could be used in 3D-printing filament and sports and golf products. A $50,000 Proof of Commercial Relevance loan will support product refinement, market analysis and commercialization activities, including prototype testing and customer feedback as the company evaluates market opportunities and prepares for potential licensing, pilot projects and private financing.

Award recommendations for these funds are made by the Technology Commercialization Committee to the IEDA Board for approval.

Destination Iowa grant awarded to transform Sleepy Hollow Sports Park

Polk County Conservation plans to transform the aging Sleepy Hollow Sports Park in Des Moines into an inclusive, four-season outdoor recreation destination with expanded skiing, snowboarding and tubing opportunities, including 11 winter sports hills, a new accessible chairlift, a terrain park for freestyle tricks and an artificial intelligence-assisted snowmaking system. The project also includes an 18,000-square-foot lodge with a public brewpub, equipment rentals and gathering space, along with expanded camping, hiking and mountain biking opportunities. Once fully restored, the park is expected to attract up to 200,000 visitors annually and generate an estimated $4.1 million in direct visitor spending in the Des Moines area. The $17 million project was awarded a $4.25 million grant.

The Destination Iowa program invests in transformational attractions that will bolster the quality of life and attract visitors and new residents. It helps Iowa communities make strategic investments to create and support infrastructure projects for lasting tourism opportunities. Award recommendations for these funds are made by an internal and external review committee and presented to the IEDA Board for approval.

CAT grants awarded to two projects

The City of Jewell was awarded $675,000 to construct a 3,370-square-foot pool featuring a zero-depth entry, water features, three 20-yard swimming lanes and a 1-meter diving tower. The facility, which will use the existing bathhouse, will provide a new recreational destination for area residents and families. The total project cost is $2.59 million.

The Lee County Conservation Board was awarded $78,000 to replace the aging beach house at Pollmiller Park in West Point with an 806-square-foot visitor services facility featuring accessible restrooms, concessions and modern visitor amenities. Pollmiller Park attracts more than 6,000 beach visitors and 2,500 camping nights annually, with visitors from 30 states over the past five years, while campground revenue has increased nearly 200% since 2014. The total project cost is $393,675.

The CAT program provides financial assistance to communities for the construction of recreational, cultural, educational or entertainment facilities that enhance the quality of life in Iowa. Award recommendations for these funds are made by the CAT Review Committee to the IEDA Board for approval.
