Cotton Statement on Senate Passage of NDAA

Washington, D.C. - Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) released the following statement after the Senate voted to pass the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):

"I commend the Trump administration for working with Congress to ensure in this year's NDAA that our warfighters have the tools they need to deter, and if necessary, defend our nation from any threat that we may face. This year's defense bill finally provides our troops the tools to defend our nation-and Arkansas will play a key role. Munitions production at Pine Bluff Arsenal will not only continue, but will expand, while the C-130 training mission at Little Rock Air Force Base will continue uninterrupted. These investments are good for our state and support President Trump's goal of building more munitions faster. This year's bill also includes my legislation to counter the risks that unidentified drones pose to everything from our military bases to Razorback Stadium. Finally, this bill also includes much-needed efforts to protect our nation's critical infrastructure, which is threatened by Communist China and other foreign adversaries. I am proud to support this bill that rebuilds and modernizes our military, and I look forward to this bill being signed into law by President Trump."
