SW 16th Street Asphalt Improvement Project

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with M & M Asphalt Maintenance Inc. to resurface SW 16th Street between State Road 7 / US 441 and SW 31st Avenue in Sunset and Riverland Village. This project includes:

• Milling and resurfacing asphalt
• Applying new pavement markings

Construction will begin on Monday, April 20, 2026, and is expected to be completed on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Work will take place daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Construction is expected to begin at SW 31st Avenue and head west toward State Road 7 / US 441. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts

• Neighbors are asked to refrain from parking along SW 16th Street within the project limits daily during work hours.
  
• One lane in each direction of SW 16th Street within the project limits will be closed during work hours.
• Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
• Access to driveways will be maintained unless work is taking place in the immediate area across from the driveway. Crews will attempt to coordinate with neighbors prior to the start of asphalt operations that will impact driveway access.
• Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
