AAJ Applauds Bipartisan Senate Effort to Protect Kids Online and Repeal Section 230

December 19,2025

WASHINGTON, DC-American Association for Justice (AAJ) President Bruce Plaxen issued the following statement upon introduction of the Sunset Section 230 Act:

"Across the nation, parents have lost their children to suicide, eating disorders, sexual trauma, and abuse because of companies that put their bottom line above the safety of our children. Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA) has shielded Big Tech for decades, allowing companies to profit from illegal, predatory, and exploitative designs targeting kids and teens. I'm thrilled to see a bipartisan effort in Congress to finally roll back Section 230 and put a stop to this madness. Thank you to Senators Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), Dick Durbin (D-Illinois), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-Rhode Island), Josh Hawley (R-Missouri), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee), Richard Blumenthal (D-Connecticut), Ashley Moody (R-Florida) and Peter Welch (D-Vermont) for introducing this important legislation to protect America's kids."
