McMahon will help advance the industry's role in strengthening Americans' financial security

New York, N.Y.-October 15, 2026-The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America® (Guardian) today announced that Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Andrew McMahon has been selected for a one-year-term as Chair of the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), the leading trade association representing life insurance companies that provide financial and retirement security to millions of Americans.

As ACLI Chair, McMahon will work in partnership with ACLI leadership and Board of Directors to help steward the association's agenda and support the priorities of its member companies. His role will include helping guide the association's efforts to expand access to financial protection, strengthen public understanding of the value of life insurance and retirement readiness, and deepen engagement with policymakers on issues affecting American families.

"I'm honored to serve as ACLI Chair because I believe deeply in what our industry makes possible," said Andrew McMahon, Chairman and CEO of Guardian and Chair of ACLI. "We help people protect what matters most and prepare for the future with confidence. As people live longer and retirement needs grow more complex, I look forward to working alongside leaders across our industry to help more Americans build resilience and achieve greater financial security."

McMahon joined Guardian in 2017 and has served as Chief Executive Officer since 2020 and Chairman since 2024. Under his leadership, Guardian has remained one of the most highly rated companies in the industry while delivering strong financial performance and policyholder value. In 2026, Guardian approved a record $1.7 billion dividend allocation to participating policyholders, extending its legacy of paying a dividend every year since 1868. The company also achieved record operating income of more than $2.5 billion in 2025 and, in 2026, surpassed $1 trillion in life insurance protection and $100 billion in total invested assets.
